I know there was a thread started in regards to $500.00 subs, but I am looking to go less than that. I would like to spend about $300.00-$350.00.
I am looking at a 12" Polk, JBL, or Rockford. Right now I have a 10" Yamaha in a 20X20 foot room. So, I am looking for better punch and lower bass.
What do you think of the 12" JBL?

build one.. get a tempest ($150) plate amp ($125) and building material ($75) and it will beat anything you would be able to buy at the store, hands down.

I'm researching subs right now also and thinking of DIY, but people are talking about this Sony SA-WM40 out performing the JBL 10 and 12. This is for a ht only system though. Also regarding DIY I read:
$125 Avatar Audio Shiva 12" subwoofer driver

    $169 Madisound KG-5150 200watt/4 ohm subwoofer amp

$90 Parts Express 3 cubic foot subwoofer enclosure

I'm still learning but that's what I know. Good luck!
