It's quite simple what happened. It's called what's commonly known as 'BAF' syndrome aka Bass Avoidance Fadeout. When your sub is at the point where it refuses to participate in any of your foolish bass games and exhibitions. :D

There was probably a little corrosion/ buildup in the fuse holder.Taking it apart & back together moved the fuse so it made contact. I've seen this kind of problem often in the car stereo world. Smoking,fumes, and moisture cause problems in fuse holders, [especially spring type] and RCA connections.

P.S. I own an Axiom subwoofer and it is a great value, with amazing service. They called me, Canada to N.Y. and advised my for 25 min on a problem I was having with my receiver.They were right, and the EP125 sounds great.
