My friend and his wife have decided they like will get the Athena .5 system (with S.1's for the front) and are looking for a good reciever in the $300-$400 range. They heard the speakers with a Yamaha HTR-5560 which was $379. They also had the Harmon Khardon AVR-125 for $350. How do these two compare, and are there any better receivers in this price range?

Thanks.

It would go with this; http://www.harmanaudio.com/
Refurbished Harman Kardon AVR-320 with a two year warranty for $398. It will probably have a couple of minor cosmetic defects, but it is well worth the sac.
good luck

Or you can go to jandr.com and pay $399 for a brand new HK 320. If you have a Fry's anywhere near you, apparently they are selling them for $299.99 and the avr520 for $399!
