Any suggestions? I'm looking at the B&K 307 pretty seriously. I've also heard good things about the Denon 5800, & Carver c-1000.

My vote is for the Denon 5800 or the Integra 9.1 with a slight edge going to the Integra (I love the way it sounds).

Eric, the actual MSRP on the Rotel rsx-1065 is $1999 US, not $1600. I verified this today on the web and at a B&M. I would have jumped all over special ordering one from the dealer today if he had it for $1600!!! [IMG] Man that's one sweet piece! [IMG]

I do not have any personal experience with recievers in this price range, but I do read many reviews.
According to Home Theater Mag JerryW is right on the money they loved both of those recievers. Although they seem to give a slight edge to the Denon. And to confuse you more the 5802 is either out or soon to be released, but for a bit more money.
Personally I would be thrilled to own the 4802, but sadly that is still a bit out of my price range.

Until the Denon 5802 comes out, this would be my ranking......
    1 - Denon 4802
    2 - Integra 9.1
    3 - Denon 5800
    4 - B&K 307
the new Pioneer 49&47 would be in there also, but I haven't had any experience with them yet..............

Would you consider separates? If so, the Outlaw 950 plus an outboard amp could be in the pricerange, and the 950 sure looks sweet.
For amps, you could get one of the Outlaw amps, or maybe a three-channel Odyssey Stratos ($1100 for fronts?) + a pair of nOrh Le Amps ($495?). There are other amp options in the price range, of course. Personally, I'd go with the Stratos/LeAmp combo. :)
    This system would ROCK, IMO.
