I am in the process of building my home theatre. Bare studs and electrical. Now I'm wiring for sound.
I have a smallish L-shaped room ((TVwall)9ft X 16ft X (backwall)14ft. My couch back will sit at the 12ft mark of the 16ft wall. My computer etc will sit behind the couch.
At 12', on the ceiling, I have boxed in some heating ducts, which hang down 6" to 8" and run parallel to the TV wall . I was thinking of hanging the speakers from there..Will they be too far forward if your head is basically 7 or so feet directly below? (BTW, the speakers I'll be using are 70watt Yorkville monitors, about a foot tall )
My thoughts are that If I mount them to the back wall, the heating ducts/computer equipement may cause some problems, sound-wise.
    Any thoughts?..
