I need some maple veneer for my soon to be new sub enclosure. My local hardwood place quoted me $63 for a 4x8 sheet. Is there any place online to get a better deal? Thanks.

    Blake,
Several people have recommended www.hardwoodweb.com, which is local to me. The only problem is, their maple veneer is $62.33 for a 4x8 sheet. So you'd end up paying even more with shipping.
I've also used www.tapease.com before. Their current pricing for 10mil, paper-backed veneer in maple is $1.44/sq.ft., which is $46.08 for a 4x8 sheet.
Edit: I just noticed that Tape-Ease has 4x8 sheets of maple for $38.20. The above price of $46.08 is if you are strictly buying by the square foot.

Depends on what you get quoted for. Any veneer can be cut several ways. Rotary cut is usually cheapest. Plain sliced, rift cut, quartered etc. are more money, but look much nicer, IMO.
