My local audio store has Paradigm monitor 7's that are nice but they are selling them for full retail, $325 apiece. I would like to buy them over the internet to save money but I can't find a store that sells them, any suggestions?

They do not sell Paradigm over the internet or by mail order. Its company policy, if I were you I would go to there site and look up all the dealers close to you and go elsewere or you may be s-o-l and have to pay full msrp.

Where do you live? Many make the trip to Canada if they are close enough.

It means the prices of Paradigm products in Canada are significantly cheaper (once exchange rates and taxes have been refunded). I don't know if a single set of monitor 7's is worth the trip but you can save big $$$ if you're purchasing a whole setup. There are tons of posts about this (search for Paradigm and Canada).

Paradigms are made in Canada. Apparently, when your @$$ is frozen in all winter(8 or 9 months) you've got lots of time to devote to making speakers. I'd guess that is why speaker are likely right after Mike Myers and hockey for Canadian export revenue. We could easily write up a list of quite good speaker companies in Canada.

Did I mention we actually had freezing temperatures for a few hours this year here in south Texas? Nice, except we've already hit 97F in May.

    Hey Ron:

Along with the igloos, how many speaker manufacturers are there in BC?[IMG]

Really? I had no idea. Guess I need to watch the Discovery channel more.

When I went to college on the East Coast in the mid 80's people would actually ask me about my horse, how big my ranch is, what gun I carried at home, and what is it like to live in the desert when they found out I was from Texas. Of course the fact I'm 6'4"(6'6" with boots on) likely added to their stereotypical beliefs.

I don't believe there are any speaker plants here in BC...they are all in Ontario. Well PSB and Paradigm are.
