Let me clarify my use of the word "proud". Based on what I know about certain films like "Cavalcade" and "Broadway Melody", I unconditionally believe that watching them will rob me of 3+ hours of precious film-watching time that would be better spent viewing a long list of worthier films. Based on some of the comments here, I can now add "Zola" to that list (thanks, guys). I still want to see "Gentlemen's Agreement", because of the subject matter, but I'm prepared to be less than inspired. So I'm not "proud" in the I-love-my-country sense, I'm proud in the thank-God-I-didn't waste my time sense.
