Still waiting for LIFE OF EMILE ZOLA, TOM JONES, AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS, HAMLET, THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH and ORDINARY PEOPLE. The others that were given Oscars for Best Picture I really don't feel a desperate need for (CIMARRON, BROADWAY MELODY, THE GREAT ZIEGFELD, and GOING MY WAY, but I'd most likely purchase them if released in order to have all 88 Oscar-winners on Blu).

So, we're left with 10 winners unreleased in HD. I know at least three of these (TOM JONES, AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS, THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH) already have HD masters, and should be ready to go, unless those are inferior-quality, compressed masters intended only for streaming.

I'd like them all - ALL - on Blu. I'd like ALL the nominees as well.

Criterion - there is no excuse NOT to have Hamlet released.

Warners - No Excuse to have missed the 60th Anniversary of Around the World. No reason Warners can't release more BP noms on Blu, unless HD masters are not available. They should really be leasing to smaller companies to get out these important films instead of relegating them to the archive.

Paramount(?) - They have a chance for the 65th Anniversary of Greatest Show. Apparently, TCM has some great bonus features on this film - interviews, docs, etc. Ordinary People is the latest BP winner NOT to be released on Blu. No reason it's not available.

The Warner Archive has been doing a great job, I'd just like to see a few more for my collection sooner rather than later. :/

I just watched King Solomon's Mines on DVD the other day, and if that transfer is any indication of what Warners has to work with, it's going to need a lot of serious (expensive) work to bring it up to par.

I watched it not too long ago and yah, it need major work. At least, lit they could clean up the dirt and debris and the purple splotches...

It's a brilliant technicolor film that deserves the best blu Ray has to offer.
