I'm new to HT and looking to build my first >2 ch system around my existing Snell Type D tower speakers (as L&R), a Denon 3802 receiver and the Denon 1600 DVD player. System would be used 40/60 HT/Music.

For now, I'll forgo the sub since the Type D's are good down to 32 Hz. I'm primarily looking at a center and 2 surrounds to start with, then add rears and sub later.

What are some good possible timbre matchs for the Snell's WITHOUT going to the expense of an all Snell system?

Thanks!
Ken

I'm using Snell Type 2E speakers for my mains (LR) and Polk speakers for the center and surrounds. Don't remember model number for the center but the surrounds are Atrium 55's.

Note: just added an SVS sub to my system

All in all sounds great

I just sold a CC-1 Snell center and Snell Type M bookshelves that I used with my Snell D's that worked perfectly. You might want to check Audiogon. My CC-1 sold for 225 and the M's for 175.
