I'm almost continually disappointed by the Simpsons anymore, but I have to admit that this one was excellent. The plot line was coherent and almost believable. The musical numbers kicked ass. Even the humor was on more than usual. What a standout episode, I can't only hope they've got a couple more like this left in their system. The rest of this season has been so bad I was almost ready to give up.

It was ok, but I tend to frown upon episodes that feature a lot of singing (although the "Sherry Bobbins" episode is an exception) and episodes that revolve around Lisa. I don't like what they have done with her character over the years. Is is just me, or was Martin Prince's voice not right in this ep? way too effeminate.

It seemed like they were trying to hard, but musical numbers always win me over anyways. It seemed like they have new voice actors for some of the characters, especially when Homer kept on saying "Doh!" Although this episode was pretty good, it doesn't beat last season's "Mr. Spritz Goes To Washington" where Krusty runs for senator.

I could be because Dan Castellaneta is up here in Victoria doing all of the Simpson AVR via satellite while he is filming a movie here.

How would recording in a different studio make that much of a difference?

I missed the episode so I can't comment on the difference in voices.

Although I will say this, the voice tracks for this episode were laid down months ago, and the only way for this episode to have been affected by the movie, is if he needed to come in and record a few new lines of dialog. Although the word "d'oh" wouldn't need to be something they'd have to re-record I wouldn't think.

The scene where Willy was ragging on Milhouse in the teacher's lounge was priceless!!! Perfectly executed. Funniest in a long while indeed!

I really liked the episode. The season is only 3 episodes in, but this one was my favourite.

I love Willy, so the fact that he had a lot of lines and focus was a nice surprise.
I couldn't top giggling at the Skinner/ Lisa/ school key bit...

My Fox station once again padded this show with 2 minutes or so, unfortunately they did ending it 2 minutes later this time, instead of starting the show 1 minuter earlier and ending it 1 minute late. [IMG]

I missed the very last scene. Could anyone tell me what happened after Homer drove away with Lisa? The last frame on my recording was a shot of the school building. Thanks.

I wish Nelson had been given a shot at doing more of his musical number. That one looked like it had some potential.

Really was the best in a while. Both episodes, in fact, were funnier than from the last season or two.

I thought the episode sucked big time. I chuckled for a second or two when Willy made fun of Milhouse, but I didn't laugh one tiny bit otherwise.

The rerun episode that followed was a bit more successful (Braves vs. Calvary), but South Park "revenge" bit painfully demonstrated how weak the Simpsons series has become.

I loved watching superintendent Chalmers in this one. Everytime he would yell "Skinner!" and then break into a calm toned conversation.
Oh, and what was with the two
    uncircumcised weiners
    on Lisa's head? [IMG]
