IM looking for a 7.1 surround system that would cost around 1000-1200 online. What would be best for me?

You can get a Pioneer 1014 for about $400:

(I'm not sure which one's an authorized dealer and which one is not).

Or you can get a Denon 1905. I'm sure AV123.com can help you get it at a lower than MSRP price.

Just speakers. I plan on running the audio through a sound card in my computer and some amps.

DO you think that i could get good output from the speakers with about 50 or 60 watts rms running to each of them?

How loud do you listen to your movies or music?

I feel a little like a broken record preaching about the Atoms again, but I'm so impressed with the sound at their price point, that I'll recommend them once more. 3 sets of them with the cc170 in the center, and a PDR-8 as a sub would bring the system to a little under 1k, or a PDR-10 would make it a little under $1,100. Demo them as your mileage may vary, but it's a good place to at least start to see what you like.

i like my music pretty loud. I plan on my audio through a sound card, however ill need amps for all this and im looking to save money. Is there such a thing as an affordable 7 channel amp? Would multiple 2 channel amps work?
