I was looking to add to my DVD collection, without spending an arm and a leg. Have you bought any good but cheap movies as of late. Thanks

Killer Klowns From Outer Space: Special Edition

You'll never find another SE like this for under 10 bucks.

I didn't pick it up myself, but Best Buy had Risky Buisness for $9.99.

I paid $9.98 (Canadian) for Straw Dogs at A&B Sound. Non-anamorphic, but a nice transfer. No complaints.

Hey Brook,

How is the Diggstown disc. I love the movie, but it was on my 'non-anamorphic no-no' list. Is it worth it to bend the rules?

UHF can be found for under 10 bucks in a few places.

I think Some Like It Hot can be found for $7-9...but that's the bare-bones edition. I reccomend the SE which has a really nice interview with Tony Curtis.

Absolutely "Suicide Kings" -- I love this movie, and the extras are great!

"Abre Los Ojos (Open You Eyes)" is under $10.00 at DeepDiscountDVD -- GOOD movie!

Alex, it's fine, nothing spectacular. I don't have an anamorphic setup so I can't comment on that. It's one of the few mindless pure fun movies that's never gotten old with me. There's nothing that leaps off the screen as a major flaw, but this isn't one of those discs where I examine the image closely.

I have had most of these titles for along time but they can still be had for under $10 and they are awesome films, and of course OAR!

Pump up the Volume

Christine

Iron Giant

Flatliners

Bill and Teds Excellent Adventure

Bill and Teds Bogus Journey

Young Guns 1 & 2

Thelma and Louise

Weekend at Bernies

Red Dawn

Man in the Iron Mask

Maximum Overdrive

Eddie and the Cruisers

Last Man Standing

The Cable Guy

Supernova

War Games

Last Action Hero

Blair Witch Project

The Net

All or most of these titles can be purchased at WalMart or Kmart, and by purchasing any of these titles you are still promoting OAR, plus there are other OAR titles for under $10.

Just stay away from Warners P&S 5.88 DVD's, such a shame, some good titles bastardized by P&S!

Ghostbusters II (16:9, 5.1, great movie)
The Freshman (16:9, great movie)
Stepmom (16:9, 5.1, okay movie)
I Know What You Did Last Summer (16:9, 5.1, okay movie)
The Great Escape (good movie!)
Falling Down (16:9, okay movie)
The Man Who Knew Too Little (16:9, 5.1, commentary, good comedy)
The Blair Witch Project (cool movie, cool DVD)
and if you're willing to succumb to P&S, I'd recommend:
My Blue Heaven
Funny Farm
Cujo
National Lampoon's Vacation (just reduced)
Spies Like Us
The Great Santini
 Why couldn't they release them in WIDESCREEN?!

Personally I'll never succumb to P&S! Sadly those are some of my favorite films! :frowning:
I just picked up Pacific Heights and Freejack for $5.88 each at WalMart, both Anamorphic OAR and 5.1! Both are great films too!
