What do you all consider the best dvd players anywhere from $300 on up to $1500?

Ok maybe I should ask this. If you all had up to $1500 to spend on a dvd player what would it be?

If I had $1500 I will go for a Panasonic RP82 and keep the cash. It is simply one of the best DVD/DVD-A players in the market and for $230 it is a steal.

I would say the Denon 3800 or Sony 999es. Both can be had for around $900.00-$1,000.00 each depending on where you shop. The picture, build, and audio quality found on these players can not be had in a sub $500.00 player - at least I've yet to see it. The Philips 963 is generating a lot of buzz for $400.00 and the Pioneer Elite 45a Universal player offers DVD/SACD with progressive scan for around $500.00. I personally have a Denon 1600 (I paid $425.00) and couldn't be happier. The Toshiba 4800 and Panny RP-82's are outstanding best buys for their price bracket, but aren't by any means the best there are out there - nor should they be expected to be at their price points.
