I think Ron made a mis post in the title. He was refering to the Denons: 2910 and 3910.
You should always consider your display when selecting a source option. Typically digital displays will do better with DVD players with a digital output.
In Ron's case, he owns a Toshiba 50H81, which converts all signals to 540P. It does a very poor job of this. Ron's best upgrade would be for a DVD player that offers component upconvertion to 1080i.
Last I talked with Ron, he had decided to wait on the purchases, and put the money into a dedicated theater room, some time in the next year.
