best DVD-player for interlaced output to regular TV? (1 Viewer)

I, like many people, still have, and will have for a while, a regular non-HD/non-Digital TV. I've heard that some of the progressive units are not so good for this common scenario.

For example, I am interested in less DVD player with good audio and HDCD-decoding, so am looking at Toshiba 5700 and Harman Kardon-50?

Any recomendations?

P.S.: I plan to get good speakers and receiver, but need to go cheap enough on DVD-player so that when I do get the HD-TV, and DVD player specs. and prices "mature" I can replace it.

Both players are quite good and highly thought of.

The 5700 has the 'Bug' but picture quality otherwise is superb...HDCD deoding is very nice if you don't have a CD transport. Downsides for me: remote design and DVD-A interface.

H/K 50 I am just beginning to become familiar with and have yet to audition so I can't comment. I'm looking at it myself due to my largely H/K system.

I currently run the JVC70BK and am a very happy camper.
