I have been looking at the DIY info. and would like any recommendatons for a $300 DIY. I would like this to be for the components only and build the enclosure myself. I am looking for good economical sound with a -2 response down to around 40 or 50Hz. Can this be done? Thanks for your help.

If you mean $300 for a pair, check out audio concepts emeralds (audioc.com). For $300 per speaker, the link provided above will lead you to many options.

Anther option would be the Adire kit 81's or 281's at www.adireaudio.com. I have a set of these on order myself.

    I bought from www.speakerpage.com
Their tower line is $180 for parts only. Will have it finished in a month. It's a two way with an 8" woofer and 1" Vifa tweeter. Their spl tests show -3 db at 33hz.
I also bought their center channel which is clean and accurate. Not boxy sounding at all. Overall, it's an amazing deal for $175.
I liked their customer service and had all my questions answered quickly and courteously. Ask for Wayne.
Will let you know how it all sounds in a month
    Ben
