What is the best way to hook up my Panasonic PT-40LC12 TV to my
Pioneer VSX-D711 A/V receiver. I have digital cable and watch many
movies on HBO...But We also watch a lot of regular TV. So I want to be
able to just use the TV speakers for regular viewing and also be able
to get perfect surround sound while watching movies (obviously through
    the A/V Receiver.

    Thanks
    Mark

What you can do is use the RCA jacks on the back of the Digital Box and bring those directly to the receiver and use the coax to the TV VHF. This should give you what your looking for. I assuming that your box is a DCT 2000 Motorola or General Instruments?
