i have a component output to dvi for my mits xd300u , which gives me 525p resolution for my dvd player , but how do i get a better res for the directv box- (hughes tivo/directv combo unit)? i currently have it set up via svideo connection, and it shows only tv60 resolution . the directv has no component outs on the back , but it does have other , which im not familiar with. is there a way to get better res with a different setup for sattelite tv??are there other other dvr units that can achieve this ?

You can get DirecTV receivers with component outputs. All of the ones with which I am familiar are HD receivers that do not incorporate a PVR.

DirectTV HD PVRs are expected on the market before Christmas.

The current HD PVRs range from about $400–$800.
