I dont think you will find a SDTV in that size anymore. Also, I think every TV on the market has an S-video in.

At 44" to 50" your only options are HDTV and EDTV sets. They will all accept S-Video input.. There are a wide variety of sets to choose from such as Rear Projection DLP / LCD / LCoS, Plasma or LCD. I don't think any major manufacturers make SDTV sets over 35" any longer.

What is your price range?

Alan and Jimi; I have a SD signal from a Directv tivo box that I want to show. Most of the channels that we watch are not in HDTV. But, I hate what the HDTV sets do to a SD signal, all smushed, pixelation, morphing and such. I just cannot stand to watch it.

Do EDTV do a better job with a SD signal than HDTVs do?

If I can't get one this big what is a good 35 to 36 inch set? The Sony?

Buy a Samsung HL-S5087W and you will be pleased with the SD perfomance.

It's a 50" DLP and it's amazing.

It will display the picture 4:3 with no stretching and black on the sides and you'll love it.

You will also be ready for HD sources in the future.
