when ripping mp3's, i use a combination of apps.
i rip the mp3 files using CDex.
then i compile my playlists using Easy CD Creator
another popular app people here are using is Nero

Personally speaking, I've had quite a few issues with Easy CD's stability. I feel Nero is a better product in all respects. For ripping, I feel EAC (Exact Audio Copy) is the best method if quality is your primary concern.

I would say Nero for audio CD's. EAC for ripping.

Feurio! if you're burning straight wavs.
Nero if you're burning a data CD like an MP3 disc.
EAC if you're ripping then burning an audio image.
