Looks like Panasonic probably slashed prices for this holiday shopping season. That price seems to be showing up everywhere.

I'm tempted to pull the trigger (from B&H) myself...

FWIW, the UB9000 also got slashed some bit down to $900, which I don't ever recall seeing (discounted) before.
