    Best Buy is offering a 100GB + bonus 20GB (one drive with 120GB) 7200RPM 2MB cache with FDB for whisper quiet operation. It's $149.99 - $40 MIR - $10 MIR => $99.99 plus tax.

    I picked one up for my Panasonic Showstopper diskspace upgrade for additional recording time.

    The shortcoming of this deal is that it only comes with a 1 year warranty and only has a 2MB cache.

    Boy, I was really excited until I realized that it's an INTERNAL drive...I'm saving for one of those external USB 2.0 or Firewire drives for backup purposes.

    Shucks!

    I believe Best Buy will also install this drive for free (a $49~ value) into your PC.

    Maybe drop off your computer and browse the store for a few minutes...then pick up your PC with an extra 120 GB's of storage [IMG] for $99.99 - not too shabby I guess.

    BTW, it's a Maxtor hard drive. But they usually only have 15 on hand, so they may be all sold out by now. Hard drives on sale tend to fly off the shelves by the end of the first day.

    What's with the whole 100GB + 20GB thing? Why not just say 120GB and be done with it?

    I'm sad to see it's the Maxtor drive. I've never seen a reliable drive from them. I'll hold out for a good deal on the 100+ GB Western Digital or IBM drives.

    I really considered getting this since it's such a great deal, but I have to hold off till the Serial ATA drives come out. I want a new mobo, processor, ram and hard drive and would like to get them all in one shot.
