Yamaha YHT-3920UBL 5.1 for 429.95 or Onkyo HT-S3800 5.1 for 249.00 (Amazon) I have been stuck and need to order ASAP. I'm leaning Yamaha but like the 1/2 of price on Onkyo? Please help! Also will take other suggestions???

I'd personally go with the Yamaha, as it comes with a powered subwoofer and a pre-out for the subwoofer on the receiver. The Okyo comes with a passive (non-powered) subwoofer, and only offers a standard speaker connection for the subwoofer on the receiver.

What this all boils down to is that should you want to upgrade the subwoofer down the road, the Yamaha is the preferred option between the two. The Onkyo will force you to look at passive subwoofers, which are more difficult to find.

And to add to what Todd was saying you will most likely prefer the sound of the Yamaha over the Onkyo. I have had gear from Onkyo and Yamaha over the years but as far as receivers go I prefer the audio performance of the Yamaha's over the Onkyo's.

Yamaha, in my experience, packs a lot of value in to their lower end receivers. I reviewed their entry-level receiver (which is what usually comes in their receiver/speaker bundle) a few years ago, and was surprised it included a DSD decoder, which was not even listed in the specs!
