What is the minimum wattage a bass should have. I play music and movies and sometimes can tell the difference in audible,, discernable sounds with different basses. For example, I have a 210 watt bass with a 10 inch driver that will reproduce low sounds where a 25 watt and a 50, with 6 inch drivers, watt bass won't.

What is the best wattage/driver size?

The 210 watt bass sometimes flubbs: During the opening of Pirates 3 when the 'heartbeat' was there, the bass flubbed (Is this the right term?) It sounded strained and too vibrant.

Size and wattage are not a good way to evaluate subs without knowing the type of enclosure. For instance, a ported 10" 300W sub can sound better than an enclosed 10" 1000W sub, simply because enclosed subs swap size (enclosed can be made much smaller) for efficiency. So you can see, it really isn't a cut and dried thing. Besides, watts are the biggest misnomer in all audio and are used more for marketing than for actual statistics.

Your best bet is to list needs and budget and the good folks here will steer you towards the best buy.
