I am trying to find a good 5x amp to hook up to my Denon 3803. My budget is about 3k or less, and new or used does not matter. I am currently considering the Parasound HCA 2205AT, Sunfire, and CineNova Grande 5.

Any thoughts on which would be the best? Other suggestions?

And is there a difference between the ATI and CineNova?

    Thanks for the help!

My two cents would be on Proceed AMP5 that would satisfy your music and HT needs in spades.

Thanks for the replies. To answer the questions, I have Paradigm Studio 100s which I think are 89 db. I would like something with a lot of power, because I do like to play movies and music loud at times...

I plan on keeping the Denon for probably another year.

Thanks so for for the suggestions.

What can I get this new for?

Also, what about the new Aragons? Like the 2005? Are the older ones supposed to be a lot better?

Cinenova's on ebay from a guy named all-trading sells them new with a 10 year warranty...They usually go for around 1850.00 and Ive seen them with a buy-it-now price of 1850.00 as well...(Ive never heard one but all the reviews are excellant). I read somewhere that either ATI's roll off the Cinenova line are visa-versa.

Thanks again for all the help. I ended up getting the Cinenova, but unfortunately it is not working correctly.[IMG]

When I hook up the speakers to the amp, I get static sound coming from the speakers. When I hook the amp up to my receiver through the preouts and turn it on, the static gets louder. Also, there is even some signal going to my sub, even though it is not hooked up to the amp - just the receiver.

Thinking the receiver might be partly responsible, I disconnected the Cinenova, and connected my old amp - and no problems at all.

I contacted the tech help with Earthquake yesterday- and apparently they only have 2 techs working for them, one was out of town, and the other had gone home for the day. I left my number and ended up getting a call back. The tech said it sounded like a ground loop? in the amp, and told me to touch a metal object to the end of the rca cable coming out of the amp while the amp was powered up to try to short it out?? Tried this and did not work.

Then he asked me to call back today at a specific time - and when I did, I was told he has left for the weekend and I should try back Monday!

    UGH!

    Any thoughts?

    go to hometheaterspot.com

they have a dedicated forum for earthquake owners

your problem is commong, esp. with people with older homes. You may have to upgrade the grounding in your home, but that's an easy task.
