I have a Receiver in my cellar that I would love to get much better radio reception with. I'm near Providence and I can't even get Boston stations well which is quite different than my car. Which Antennas are best for FM and AM and where in my house should it be? The receiver is downstairs but I figure the antenna should be on higher ground than that.

For FM, try an externally located, on your roof, rotatable antenna. For FM, if there's a way to run a long length of wire outside to some fixed object without it being a hazard, then that's the way to go.

I wouldn't have to worry about the weather? We are used to a lot of snow up here. Then again, the old TV Antennas on the roof never failed did they. Where can I look for one of these?
