I've got a space restriction in this HT set up and need a recommendation for a good 10" (or 8" for that matter) sub for under or about $200 to go with NSP-1's. Can you beat the JBL PB-10 from jandr for $199 shipped? Thanks

A lot of people have picked the Sony WM40 sub over the JBL PB10. I've heard them both, but not properly set up, so I can't really provide much help besides that....

I haven't even gotten my confirmation of shipment yet and you're trying to sink your claws. [IMG]

Richard - In the space it needs to go I can just fit a 10" unit nicely. The 12" would fit, but I'd have to move some things I wouldn't want to move. It's also not the primary set up and won't see any where near loud.

For the money the PB10 is a steal. I got mine from J & R for $199 shipped for Christmas. It is just now starting to break in. Playing the same music at the same volume setting, I have to keep turning down the level a notch almost daily. Even my receiver sub setting has been dropped considerably. I have calibrated the darn thing at least 3 times since it arrived. I'll give it another week and then recalibrate.

I know there are many fans of the Sony but all I hear is booming bass. Maybe the ones I've heard haven't been filled.

I went ahead and ordered the PB-10. The free shipping was the clincher. Everything else I was interested in was about the same price after shipping. I appreciate the input. If anyone is interested UBid has the Infinity IL-100s for about $200 + s/h in maple
