Parts Express auctions off the 12 inch DVC pretty frequently on Ebay. Reserve is about $80. If you can get it near the reserve price this is likely the best deal you'll find.

The new Blueprint 1001 and 1201 would work but has anybody order from them in the last 3-6 months? It seems as if they have lost interest in doing any actual business.

I built a sub using a Peerless 850146 which is 10 inches and cost about $65.00 at Parts Express or Madisound. The volume of the box is about 1.7 cubic feet. I am using a Apex Jr. amp. It doesn't sound bad but I usually run the amp close to max and also crank up the subwoofer gain a little on the receiver. I think maybe I should have gone with a 250 watt amp.
If I ever have a few hundred dollars I don't know what to do with, I would like to build a sub using the Titanic MK II. I know, that is a little above the $80 price range but I hear a lot of good things about that driver on this forum.

The absolute best deal on drivers right now is at www.lambdacoustics.com!!!:D
Nick is closing shop :frowning:and is selling the LE drivers for just about cost! If it wasn't for the fact that I am strapped for cash, I would pick up 4 of them.
:frowning:
NOTE: Nick may be out of town till some time in January, so if you get no reply that is why.

I just bought four of the Adire DPL12 drivers for $75 each. Although designed for dipole use, these apparently are also superb for general use.

Shawn any reason you want the Dayton 12" specs? There are other drivers with other specs that can be much better and worse. It all depends on what you are after. 80L sealed or ported? Is this for HT or music?

Stephen, how did you get the DPL's for $75? They were $99 on pre-order and are $145ea now.

I want a 4ft^3 sealed enclosure max. 2ft^3 sealed is perfect. I would use it for 90% music. Can you help me out with a similar driver to Dayton DVC?

I just emailed Adire and asked for a quote on four drivers, and they said $330 shipped to Michigan. I suspect the price for a single driver might be more.
