Anyone know if Image's now discontinued Benji DVD is OAR or P&S/open matte? The package doesn't specify.

And how is the quality of the disc?

This disc was discontinued last year, but I know where I can still get one. It is a bit of a guity pleasure for me.

Ooops, just found my answer. It has been formatted to fit the screen, thus I won't be buying it.

Sorry about the needless post.

I have the CED videodisc of this, released by MGM in 1981. The pan-and-scan is really obvious during the opening credits since they try to get all the words to fit on the screen.

Does anyone know if the Goodtimes version coming out August 17th is OAR or not?

I don't believe Benji has ever been available in widescreen on home video. Director Joe Camp apparently prefers full-screen for his 1974 movie. Even the DVD officially sanctioned by him--part of the Benji Video Library from Ventura--is full-screen.
