Below, Miramax's orphaned horror film from this past fall, which almost nobody got a chance to see, and which stars Matthew Davis, Bruce Greenwood, and Olivia Williams, and is directed by David Twohy, is now listed for a 03/11/'03 release on DVD.

Looking forward to this one, based on the subject matter and the director's previous films. It's a pity that it didn't get support during its theatrical run. Oh well, one of the nice things about Home Theater are those films waiting to be 'discovered'. This is probably going to be one of them.

i enjoyed this one quite abit and will be buying it. It is basically a haunted house story that takes place on a submarine. Very well done for the most part. I'd put it on par as far as sub movies go up with u-571. Somehow i doubt the dd mix on below will come close though [IMG]Das Boot remains the best sub movie ever made!!!!!

I met a guy from Double negative (who did the SFX on Below) about a year ago and he told me about this submarine/supernatural movie he was doing.................i've been waiting to see it ever since.

Oh and Crimson Tide (for me) is the best sub movie ever, have all the others, though I sold Das Boot about 2 months ago because I could'nt see myself watching it again. But it was a good show, it was just a "watch once" kind of a movie for me.

I absolutely loved BELOW, and it is definitely one of 2002's best films! I hope Dimension treats this film right for a change with a fantastic DVD, but I've learned to not expect much from them.

I couldn't find BELOW within a 100 mile radius of where I live. Miramax must have sent, like, 10 prints out? An absolute disgraceful marketing campaign plus zero theatrical support... all for a movie that got great reviews from the people who saw it. I just don't get why it was dumped like this.

This better be a good DVD presentation.

I've never even heard of this film but being a Twohy film and an interesting premise I may just have to give it a go.

At least they didnt make it a bare bones release. I also hear their are supposed to be some deleted scenes on the disc as well. Its true that they should have made this more widely released in theaters. Twohy did make Pitch Black, which was one of the best Sci-Fi thrillers of the 90s, and that should have helped make it a little more profitable. Perhaps since the cast wasnt as well known they thought maybe it wasnt worth releasing, but thats no excuse not to release it.
