Does anyone know if these were ever released on DVD or VHS? One of the film titles was "Our Mr. Sun" and there were several others. I'm interested in getting these.

hummmm....you must be reading my mail!!!....under studio feedback....a couple of days ago i posted an inquiry to see if anyone would enjoy seeing these titles on DVD. TheBell Series was released several years ago on LaserDisc by IMAGE ENTERTAIN and Rhino...i would enjoy having them on DVD if they were issued on the medium.

Are you talking about the one where the guy with the bald head and glasses would explain things to kids??
My Dad was a 40 yr. employee of Southern Bell and he used to get these for us and bring equipment home and show them.
I would pay real money to get to see them again. Did you know that the same outfit that produced the science series did a stop action Xmas story? It was really kewl.

    "Hemo the Magnificent!!!"
I completely forgot about these series of films. They showed them to us in elementary school.
I wonder if they look really corny today...

Yes, they do look kind of corny today. Particularly the dialogue between Dr. Frank Baxter and Richard Carlson.
HOWEVER, these remain important film artifacts. Not least because some of them were directed by Frank Capra! And, whatever their shortcomings nearly 50 years later, they remain model examples of creative, educational film.
Hemo is, IMHO, by far the best of the series, though.

Sorry, folks. I thought I was passing on some interesting information about Frank Capra producing these, but in re-reading the thread, I see that Bob_L already let that cat out of the bag. However, I too, would purchase these should they be issued on DVD.

My Dad is the absolute biggest fan of these; I showed him on Ebay where he can buy them on Laser. His alltime favorite movie, "Guadalcanal Diary" is coming out too. If they do come out, he'll be first in line to own the whole set.
As for my generation, I'd love to own all the 3-2-1 Contact episodes on DVD; an extremely well known show for the 20-29 year olds.

Don't you hate it when someone bumps up an old thread asking for info on something being released on DVD, only to not give any new info on it? So do I, that's why I don't do it. [IMG]

Is the 5.0 track a "classroom Experience" track with the projector running in the rear speakers, like on the Educational Archives discs?
