Behringer ultracurve pro DEQ2496 (1 Viewer)

I just purchased a behringer Ultracurve DEQ2496. The DEQ2496 has XLR digital outputs while my pre/pro has coaxial digital inputs (RCA). In order to hook-up I am looking for an adaptor for XLR to RCA. I noticed CARDAS and Neutrik make them. The Neutrik converts the 110 ohm XLR signal to the standard 75 ohm Coaxial rca impedence. Is this necesary? Any other recomendations for adaptors. Any difference between s/pdif and AES/EBU connections? I want to stay in digital to stay away from the D/A convertors and analog section in the DEQ2496.

I gather from the manual that they are the same, only the AES/EBU is balanced for long distance runs.
