It was designed to do just what it says: stop feedback in stage equipment.

But for people with subwoofers and rooms that have extra-loud boom at some frequencies, it can be used to reduce just a few frequencies to provide a smoother sound.

It is basically a parametric equalizer that can be programmed. For $129, it's a very nice addition to a HT system with an external subwoofer.

how to program such equalizer? i am a programmer, but i am dumb when it comes to home theater. when i auditioned take5-2, take5 and paradigm cinema, i couldnt differentiate them at all.

how to determine whether a ht needs such equalizer?
