Nowadays, a single person cannot really produce anything anymore that can keep up with the multi-million dollar projects of today (unless you have the idea for the next Tetris in your head), but one can still produce outstanding improvements for existing stuff, like this for the Quake 1 engine:

    Amazing!

I spent 2 hours just trying to get Quake to run on Xp yesterday, just so I could try this. [IMG] I finally got it, but man what a pain. Do you know how to change the resolution? Do you call the exe in batch file with the resolution options?
Telejano is supposed to be pretty cool too, but I haven't tried it yet.

You make it sound like that's a bad thing.

I'm just saying just because an old game now looks better, its still the same old game. Pretty pictures do not make the game better.

You know tho, the people that learn from hacking Mr. Carmack's code today will be making great games tomorrow.

I think ID's policy of open source is a great one

This thing looks incredible! Unfortunately it runs a little slow on my system. As for Quake being an old game, that is of course true, but it is still in my opininon, a great game, and I love the look of the original Quake more than the two sequels.
Does anyone know how to turn on mouselook permanently?
