    HEAR YE! HEAR YE!!!
Abbeyrd's Beatles Page is reporting that the Anthology AND Paul's Driving Rain concert DVDs are due in November.
Not sure of their source, but they are usually pretty accurate.

I've always found abbeyrd's page to be accurate. I believe them; these 2 titles are going on my list as must-haves. AHDN and Anthology by Christmas!!! I must've done died and gone to heaven.

    Great!

I guess I'll have to break down and get Yellow Submarine finally when I get AHDN and Beatles Anthology.

Any official (or semi-official) word yet as to whether or not there will be anything additional on the Anthology DVD, i.e. that wasn't on the VHS version?

But you haven't seen it all until you've seen it on laserdisc! [IMG]

I may pick up the DVD, but I'm not ditching the beautiful LD set.

The one glaring omission on the ld is the video of Real Love. It will be a real shame if this isn't included on the dvd.

The laser disc anthology is a winner! Even though I paid full price when it came out, it may be worth also purchasing the DVD. I agree that the Compleat Beatles is a great documentary, and would be great to have on DVD, since it was only out on VHS.

Yet Apple Corps has some sort of legal control in place blocking The Compleat Beatles from being resurrected on DVD. Is that not correct?

And I wonder why Apple wouldn't want the documentary available; though balanced, it could not be more reverential of the Moptops. Or would it be concern that Compleat would impede sales of Anthology?

Either way, I would be more than willing to spend money on both, doing my little bit to keep the torch of Beatlemania flying high.

You're in for a treat, Theo. The longer version has soooo much more in it in the way of live performances and full songs. Plus, some profanity! [IMG]

Let's hope it doesn't have edge enhancement out the gazoo like the otherwise excellent LaserDisc collection.
I don't expect a PCM stereo track, but that would be a nice treat.
I can not WAIT to see that Driving Rain concert DVD! [IMG] Now where's "Rockshow"??? [IMG]

Another nice laser disc was the
"Ready Steady Go! The Beatles Live"
    from the 1964 British Show.
12 video songs about 20 min., mono., ok picture.

There is an article in the calendar section of the Sunday LA Times talking about the upcoming release of "A Hard Day's Night" on DVD. They then go on to say under "More Beatle Wishes" "A Hard Day's Night" will be followed in November by DVD releases of "Anthology" and the Paul McCartney concert film "Driving U.S.A.". Just FYI.....
Has anybody seen an official announcement yet?
    Later
    Jim
