I've heard numerous accounts of receiving this disc early, but I can't find it in stock now at any online retailer nor in Wal-Mart. Is it just me or is this title scarce right now? Could it possibly be a low order for this title because of a perceived low buy rate? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Shop Smart. Shop S-Mart.
Or if you don't have an S-Mart, try K-Mart. I picked up a copy there for $14.99 today.

Just wondering if you guys got the "16-page booklet" with the Beastmaster DVD. Mine's not there.

So, let me get this straight... The release date was the 23rd? Then why can't I find it anywhere? Was there a problem getting enough copies to fill the stores? Where is the best chain to look for it? I heard the name K-Mart mentioned here, although I have never picked up a DVD from K-Mart before...

Already checked, none found or advertised. In fact, all DVD seller pages I checked, Best Buy and TowerRecords included, all have either special order or coming soon listed. Is it really at the stores or are people just getting there pre-orders early?

I don't know how anyone just went to the store and bought it since the release date was pushed back to this Tuesday. Perhaps it was released in other areas first other than the Washington D.C. area? That just does not seem right to me...

I actually got this at a local FRED MEYER (and SUSPIRIA, also) a week early.
Since AB is a 'small' company I dont think the threat of legal action is quite as real to the stores.
On the other hand, many of the non-specailty stores may not get AB titles as they are considered "exotic" or non-mainstream... they just want to stock the "Top 50"
    ie: JP3, JP3, JP3, and STAR WARS-TPM

The Anchor Bay site still says October 23rd. It's possible that there was a delay in getting it to some suppliers. http://www.anchorbayentertainment.com/beastmaster/
Also, some of the DVDs have been without the booklet. Maybe they pulled some of the boxes to check them. ???

I agree. That's what they told me as well, that the release had been delayed and possibly because of the missing booklet advertised with the DVD. I have been waiting for this one for a while now, dreaming of Ms. Roberts in her finest wear in HD clarity.

I had trouble finding it in the usual places in Indy this past week too. finally found a copy at a nearby Circuit City which was a big surprise because they usually do not have the less popular titles.

Greg: Which Circuit City was it? I couldn't find it at the Greenwood store. (Although they did have Battle of the Planets, which I didn't plan to buy but could not resist.)

It was the Greenwood store. Unfortunately I think it was the last one [IMG]
I had to search for it a bit due to the way they display their DVDs, e.g alpha, but front cover out with different titles behind the visible front copy.

Just picked up the Breastmaster DVD for 12.99 with DTS. If did include the 16 page booklet with the promo card. Perhaps that was the reason for the delay and the spotty distribution. Waiting for 3:00 so I can view!!!
