I think you read it wrong. It's just a picture of a background being projected back onto the background itself so that any object placed in front appears to be transparent.

The link doesn't work for me, but I assume you're talking about this: Anyone have any info about that 'PREDATOR' camoflage suit?.
The consensus was that it wasn't practical.
