sticker affixed to a new-release DVD from Blockbuster Video.
    ...I hope they don't get upset. I didn't rewind it.[IMG]

Did you tell them you couldn't find the rewind button on your DVD player?

Kings Soopers (grocery store) does the same thing. All of their DVD's have the "Be Kind, Please Rewind" stickers on them. I've brought it up a couple times and even being a smart ass opened the case and manually 'rewound' the disc. They always just give the standard 'whatever shrug'.
I no longer rent there though since they refuse to carry widescreen copies of dual releases. [IMG]

Are you sure these aren't alarm stickers? Maybe they don't have blank ones for the DVD's.

It does make you wonder how many people sit there and press the "reverse search" button when the credits roll and let it run back to the opening titles. You know somebody has to have done it. [IMG]

I think video stores attach these stickers just to get a chuckle out of people. No one is really that stupid, are they?

of course they're security stickers, but it's still stupid.

My seven year old cousing once rewound a CD.
He was listening to it on the computer, and at the last song he just started hitting the back button. We're like "What are you doing?" "Rewinding it."
    He's funny. [IMG]
It became less funny when he truly didn't understand...

No, what you do is, open the player drawer, with the disk in it, take your finger, and turn the disk *counter clockwise,* all the way around, and then repeat 100,000 times.

    That should do it.

I will have to admit after watching my very first DVD... there was a strange feeling that I should be doing something. It felt wierd not to rewind.
Another funny point: When I got my first DVD player I was thumbing through the instruction manual. "Honey?" I called to my wife, "Look at this. It says here if you turn the DVD player off it'll remember where you left off in the movie... isn't that cool!?!"
    "So what, VCRs do that"
    "Oh.. yeah.. thats right"

    haha [IMG] that's great
Anyways, I think we've come to the conclusion that the stickers are, in fact, magnetic security labels to prevent theft, and the rental stores are far too lazy to bother getting ones printed that DON'T say "Be Kind, Please Rewind".
I mean, even if they don't want blank ones, they should just get ones with the store name/logo.
