I bought an Onyko TX-SR805 with the capability to do BluRay audio codec decoding, DSD decoding, and multichannel PCM output. The DAC in this thing is better than almost all of the DVD-A players I have seen. I own 6 titles on DVD-A but have been playing their DVD-V section. Now that I am upgrading to the BluRay HDMI age I'd like to be able to play SACD & DVD-A through an HDMI ouput to my receiver. I also want to get a BluRay player in the near future. If I can have all of this from one box, great, but I am willing to deal with 2. Also getting MLP from DVD-A is more important to me than SACD. If I had a reasonable single-box setup that did BD and DVD-A I would be perfectly happy. I know the PS3 can do SACD and BD but not DVD-A, which is sort of the opposite of what I want. What's the best setup in this regard or should I wait a little while and see what the market does?

There are no Blu-ray players that play DVD-A except the Panasonic DMP-BD10A/K. It is a nice player but I would personally prefer a current Blu-ray model and a separate DVD-A player. The Oppo DV-980H is one player that handles both SACD and DVD-A and does so over HDMI and there are several others but it is the most affordable one I am aware of. I have the PS3 and the Oppo DV-980H and think both are terrific. I understand that Denon and Oppo are considering a Blu-ray/DVD-A/SACD player but I don't know if either will make one.
