As far as I'm aware the 4:3 part uses the same transfer as the German set. I think the US is the only set that got the '16:9' versions

I think the extras are comparable if not exactly the same though I can't remember if what is on the German set's DVD is moved over.

The German set is Region B locked and of course the DVD is R2/PAL if you aren't region free..
