The disc looks great. It’s a bit depressing to think that the original Star Wars could look even better with minimal effort.

Yeah, we watched it last weekend and I've never before thought of this production as "eye candy" but this release looked great.

Battlestar Galactica might have been the most expensive television show made up to that point, but it still looked like a TV show so expecting full 4k visuals out of it is a bridge too far.

No but I have seen the old disc.

Didn't look all that great slightly zoomed in even in standard HD and that seemed to be on a film level.
