Nice little tweak guide for the BF2 Demo.
Apparently BF2 isn't as CPU intense as it is memory and vid memory intense.

try different drivers then Ike.

Make sure "DX Textures" (or something very similar like that) is enabled within your ATI card.

I got it working Michael. I believe it was having problems with my Firewall. The only problem is I need to upgrade-the game runs (and looks) awful on my setup.
