DVDanswers.com posted news recently that MGM/UA is releasing both Battle for Britain & A Bridge Too Far as Special Editions with featurettes and Audio Commentaries and other extras on both.

Any chance for a Region 1 (U.S.) release in the future?

My complaint about the existing version of A Bridge Too Far is that the audio level is very erratic, jumping all over the place. I hope this is corrected (and improved) in the promised new version. AS to The Battle of Britain, It's a great film, but needs a big boost in the audio treatment in order to match the visuals.

I'd say yes we will see them. With the release of The Great Escape SE, I'd say there are not far behind. Joe, I've also heard the rumor about the ommitted Walton music. Me lad Christou ought to chime in any second to brag about his version.

Battle of Britain was released a couple of months ago here in region 4 ( Australia/New Zealand ) and it has both Scores in Stereo.

The Anamorphic image and Sound quality are both excellent.

Haven`t seen it myself but(according to the cover)the region 2 "Battle Of Britain" has DTS as well as DD and the Walton score.
MGM/UA seem to be the only major company who release special editions in Reg 2/4 land before Reg 1!

    Regards

Fox are also doing this. R2 and R3 already have 2 disk SEs of (or coming very soon)
    Alien v Predator
    I Robot
    Man on Fire
    Day after Tomorrow

Also on Battle of Britain SE in R2 you get 5 English language tracks
Original theatrical soundtrack in Dolby 5.1 and DTS 5.1
Alternative Walton score in Dolby 5.1 and DTS 5.1
    Commentary

    Overall superb
