Hello there. I went to plug in my ipod to my receiver the other day and i realized that i wasnt getting and bass. I noticed that it was turned off so I switched it on and it just gave me a really loud feedback noise. I tried to switch it off and the feedback was still booming. The only way to get rid of it is if I unplug the sub. I tried a different outlet and the same thing happened. I checked the fuse and it was ok. any ideas?? PLEASE HELP!

Try unplugging the subwoofer from the receiver's LFE output, and see if it continues to make the strange sound. If it does, then the problem is inside your subwoofer. It may be that the amplifier is toast. I'm not sure what amplifier oscillation sounds like, but I had a set of PC speakers once (Cyber Acoustics) that died this sort of death.
