    Hi,

I am looking to setup 6 bass shakers and was wondering how many wires I need to run for them.

P.S. Any suggestion for a fairly cheap set of 6?

    Thank you,
    Mark

    Mark,
My setup has 6 shakers. I run them from a standalone speaker with the left speaker wire running 3 and the right running the other three. The regular Auras are roughly $25 per pair and you s/b able to pick up a receiver or amp pretty cheaply. Go to the AVS Forum and look in te speaker discussion and you'll be able to find out more than you'll ever need about different wiring options (i.e., wire them in series, parallel, etc.).

Thanks Jon, will check them out.

As for the cable, is CAT5 adequate for drive these shakers? I have plenty of CAT5 laying around and figure I would use those instead of buying more speaker wires.

    Thanks,
    Mark

I don't know anything about using CAT 5 to drive speakers. I used plain ole home depot in-wall speaker wire. You definitely don't need anything fancy.

Be aware that the regular Aura's being sold by PartsExpress right now are really crappy white box versions. You even have to solder wire to them manually. They do not carry the retail version of the regulars any longer.
