Has anyone used a plate amp to run bass shakers? Currently I have a pair of the pro series in my couch running off a 5.1 Pioneer receiver. I saw that parts express has a plate amp for $50. w/free shipping. The Pioneer seems to be doing a fine job but I think it could be put to better use.

Would this be $50 well spent or am I better off leaving it alone?

A plate amp will work well. In fact I believe I may have a 100 watt amp lying around that you are welcome to if you want it. It was from the first run of Dayton 10" subs from partsexpress and only has a faulty auto on off switch. Just leave it in the on position and you are good to go. Lets say $25.00 + shipping which should be around $10 for reg ups. Let me know if you want it.
