Do any fellow Austinites know of power tool safety/familiarity courses that are available to take? Before jumping into and DIY project I would feel better have handled these tools with a little guidance.

    Jeff,

I know there's a local WoodCraft in Austin, or at least the general area. Ol' Hank should be able to tell you where it is. They have several types of woodworking courses. I'm sure they have something geared towards the beginner.

Thanks for the info Brian, I am sure Hank will post a reply soon. I will also check online to see what I can find.

I need something to ensure that I don't have any flying router bits.....repairing the garage walls is not in my DIY plans.

Ok, I found the WoodCraft site and they have a list of classes. I will be checking out the intro and intermediate classes on routers. Thanks again for the info.
