I am looking for the best CD that would exercise an audio setup for the purpose of comparison shopping. Maybe this CD contains a mixture of some percussion tracks, opera/vocals, classical, rock, etc...?

    Any recommendations/advice is appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Tony

The best audition pieces are selections you are intimately familiar with. You can't expect much from "foreign" material.

The first Garbage album works for me.

Also, Rush's Moving Pictures. The bass in the first few seconds of "Tom Sawyer" will tell you if you're listening on good equipment or not.
