Searched but didn't find an existing thread. Mods, please merge if you like.

Sharon Stone was scheduled to be on Larry King Live on Friday night. The teaser on cnn.com indicated that she would be discussing the "Basic Instinct" sequel. I figured she was going to be on to discuss "Catwoman" primarily.

From what I remember that project finally died a couple of years ago. Seems weired that they would be discussing it now. Has anyone heard if plans are being made to get it off the ground again? Was the cnn.com teaser just a mistake possible?

I TiVod it and he used the hour for the missing Utah woman instead. I don't know if the Stone show was rescheduled.

I'm sure this flick will have more in common with Sliver than the original Basic Instinct, in tearms of QUALITY...

I think Sharon Stone just got too greedy and this film never made it out.

I mean really, this shoulda been done in 1996-1998 at the latest.

Is Michael Douglas even coming back?

She was on Dave Letterman's show last week (she kissed him about 5 times during the course of the interview) and she indicated that she hopes a sequel gets made. BTW, I watched Total Recall last night and it amazed me how much she has changed. (I think Schwarzenegger has held up better.)

Please be sensitive since she did have a blood vessel burst in her brain that nearly led to her death.

I think she looks pretty good. According to her lawsuit, she had a deal to appear, then the produicers backed out on her after she passed up other projects to be in the movie. They've apparently decided to go ahead and make it rather than just pay her off.

Looks like Sharon Stone needed some money so she made a soft-core porn! I guess "Catwoman" will do that to you.

THAT'S putting it mildly. No, make no mistake. This is NOT AT ALL work friendly! There's also tons and tons of sex!

"This is NOT AT ALL work friendly!"

Well that would depend on where you work. Here at IBM, believe me, youd be suprised what people have on their computers.

With the exception of the first shot of Sharon in the hot tub I couldnt see anything sexwise very clearly, but its definitely there, which is why I mentioned the frontal shot - that alone, should be enough for most to wait until they get home to view it.

To be honest, I think this is what the box office needs right now ... stuff for "grown ups" ... we've had enough for the "teenage boy in all of us" between all the superhero movies, fantasy movies, etc. and too many movies being PG-13-ized for the sake of kids.

Apparently the script is supposed to be quite good ... Cronenberg almost directed this, and he had a lot of praise for the screenplay.

And yes, Sharon Stone does look unbelievable.

Basic Instinct was a huge pop-culture phenomenon, and yes the sexuality of the film was a big part of that, and it looks like they nailed that aspect for the sequel.

I think we'll see rise of the R-rated hit once again ... and not just in the comedy genre.

I agree. In fact, in that sense, I wish Verhoeven was directing it. It'd have more chutzpah.

Of course (not to get too far off topic here...), religious & "moral" interests will do everything they can to prevent it from being released even if it's given an "adults only" rating.

And, yup, the trailer is indeed fairly explicit. Not for work, not for kids!

I wish Jerry Goldsmith were around to score it as well. Though, he is credited for "Themes" for BI2 at IMDB.

I'm excited for this. Sharon is almost 15 years older but she looks good. Judging by the trailer, she really seems to have recaptured Catherine.

While I agree that she looks good she also seems to have had some surgical "help" to that end....that's a shame, IMO anyway, as I strongly dislike breast implants.

Honestly it looks like some low budget soft core porn from Cinemax. [IMG]

I agree. While "Basic Instinct" was heavy on sexuality, it never seemed gratuitous.
